It is not prudent of me to sit in front of my computer every hour and send my Tweets and posts. With Hootsuite I can schedule them and shorten URLs (conserve my 140 characters). Tweetdeck offers similar services. Desktop and mobile applications exist for both. Cost: Free

2 . Search for Tweets:  search.twitter.com

Looking up competitors or Twitter topics? Use the Advanced Search feature built in to Twitter. You can use it to refine your search to a certain city, date, trend or attitude (e.g. – happy or sad tweets). Cost: Free

3. Monitor Your Brand: Twilert.com

Twilert sends you alerts through email of tweets that contain your brand, product or service. You can also designate other keywords to automatically search for. Cost: Free

4. Twitter Chat: Tweetchat.com

Political candidates will do these to draw in followers from across the country to a “town hall style discussion.Give voters a hashtag (i.e. – #coolcandidate2016). They can follow the tweets and jump in on the conversation. Businesses do this around various topics. Why? Twitter chats brand you as a subject matter expert. Cost: Free

5. See Your Tweets: Promoted Accounts and Tweets

Promoted products is Twitter marketing for small business. Promoted accounts looks at current followers and finds people with similar interests. Promoted tweets puts your best tweets in front of the best people.

Cost: Pay only with Twitter engagement or when they follow your account.
