More Likes => More Leads => More Signings
The BIG question is HOW to turn those “Likes” into signings (i.e. – revenue). A recent article by the National Notary Association showed that 75% of notaries use social media, but few notaries know how to turn their activity into leads.
When I facilitate social media workshops, I ask my audience how many people are on Facebook. Almost every hand goes up. “How many of you have a Fan Page for your notary business?”, I ask. Typically one-fourth of the original cohort raise their hands. Sites like 123 Notary, Lewis Notary Services and Social Notary Success have cracked the code on social media for notaries. What are they doing?
Twitter – communication tool with leads and colleagues
Facebook – Sharing valuable information and links with referring agencies
YouTube – Creating unique content to educate and inspire other Notaries
The strategic goals and objectives for Notaries using social media are three fold:
1) Collaborations – Look for social media as a platform to build groups and teams of like-minded professionals. There are also groups on LinkedIn that provide a similar collaboration venue.
2) Customer Service – When your customers have glowing, positive remarks (or suggestions for improvement), they are using social media to comment. Since they are already talking about you, join the conversation.
3) Signings – Money! It all comes back to this. Social media is just another way to communicate. Let your clients know they can communicate with you through these channels and they will use them. Better communication = better relationships = more signings.
Social media levels the playing field for small businesses and individual notaries. The cost to entry is very low. Maintaining your professional image costs even less. Give your clients another way to communicate and it will set you apart as a superior Notary and better businessperson.
Scientifically Speaking, of course.
