Twitter is useless!

That’s what I used to think. I have since changed my feelings. I felt there was no business application for Twitter. It was good for teenagers talking about Justin Bieber or the french fries at McDonalds, but that was it. After all, how do you effectively communicate in 140 characters or less.

Hallelujah! I have been redeemed!

After doing a few small business workshops, I realized how powerful is for business (from small to enterprise level). But how?

  1. Information sharing – follow and share information with people, organizations and companies in your industry. Get their articles and videos directly on your page.
  2. Time ManagementHootsuite. Tweetdeck. Seesmic. All of these help me manage the thousands of tweets I have coming in per day. All are free.
  3. Reward – Tweet special offers, discounts and time sensitive deals.

One last thing: People are already talking about your business. Use Twitter to follow the conversation.

Test it for 6 months. What will you lose? You will increase communication with your clients. And that will show you care (p.s. – clients like it when you show you care).
